Short summary
Caprylic acid is a natural fatty acid tested as a feed additive to make chicken safer. By re-analysing published broiler trials, this study shows that moderate doses in feed often reduce gut Campylobacter – a common cause of food poisoning – without clearly harming growth. The results support caprylic acid as a tool for more antibiotic-free poultry production.
