The influence of exterior traits and calving ease on milk yield in Czech Fleckvieh cows was analyzed. The influence of height at the sacrum and body depth on milk yield was demonstrated. The length of the fore and rear udders, the angle of udder attachment, and the depth of the udder all had a significant impact on milk yield. Thus, evaluation of the udder and frame's exterior traits is crucial for milk production. In the case of calving ease, only the influence of muscularity was proven.

This study was carried out to determine the effect of workwear clothing color on stress and fear in chickens in layer hen coops. A person working routinely in the henhouse was dressed in six different respective workwear colors (dark blue, green, red, yellow, black, and white), and sound measurements were made in the henhouse in each instance. It was determined that the color of the worker's clothing affected the sound intensity of the chickens.

The g.405442728A>G locus of HRG exhibited moderate polymorphism (0.25<PIC<0.5) in these breeds, indicating this locus has great selection potential. It is accurate to say HRG can be used as a molecular marker to increase litter size in Small-tailed Han sheep (STH). The g.405442728A>G locus of HRG and the g.421655951C>T locus of FETUB had a significant effect on litter size in STH (P<0.05). We can use HRG and FETUB as candidate genes for the selection of litter size in sheep breeding.

The potential of olive leaves was investigated by comparing two rates of dietary incorporations, 3 % and 6 %, of olive leaves into the three commercial feeds corresponding to the three growth phases, during 15 weeks of rearing. This work highlights the interest of using the locally available ingredients in order to reduce the production costs of turkey meat in Algeria and, above all, to reduce the dependence of the poultry industry on imports in general.

Rosemary essential oils could be recommended for dairy ewes fed silage to improve the nutritional quality of their milk for human consumption.

The present study aimed to evaluate the impact of dietary lysozyme levels on the growth performance, hematological and blood biochemical parameters, immunity, antioxidant capacity, and intestinal microbial count in broiler chickens. In conclusion, chicken egg lysozyme (50 mg kg⁻¹), a promising alternative for antibiotics in broiler chickens' diet, can enhance growth performance, antioxidant status, immunity, and intestinal microbiota.

The aim of our study is to describe the relationships between selected parameters of milk production and reproduction. A total of 659 cows were included in the evaluation. First, the relationships between service period and milk production parameters were evaluated. Then the influence of breed and parity on milk production parameters was evaluated. The results of our study show that it is important to pay attention to the management of cow reproduction.

It was detected that Texel and myostatin-carrying BC₁ lambs were significantly higher than Pırlak and non-carrying BC₁ lambs in the MLD area at weaning. Myostatin-carrying BC₁ lambs had a superiority to Pırlak lambs in terms of muscle conformation and fatness of the hind leg. Myostatin-carrying BC₁ lambs were found to be better than Pırlak in growth performance. It was concluded that the Pırlak lambs may be improved by introgression of myostatin mutation.

The aim of this study was to investigate the role of TP53 in buffalo lactation. The data showed that buffalo TP53 inhibited the expression of genes related to milk protein and milk fat in buffalo mammary epithelial cells by inhibiting the PI3K–AKT–mTOR pathway. These results suggest that TP53 negatively regulates the synthesis of milk protein and milk fat in buffalo through the PI3K–AKT–mTOR pathway. This study provides new insights into the functional role of TP53 in buffalo lactation.

This study examines the crossbreeding of Indonesian local rabbits with imported breeds, highlighting the heterosis effects. Crossbred rabbits, especially Rex descendants, show notable growth benefits. Based on the results, we advocate for strategic crossbreeding to enhance rabbit growth and offer insights into sustainable rabbit production.

Genetics of horn traits in sheep are still under investigation. Icelandic sheep were chosen to further characterize this complex trait using known variants as it is highly variable for horn characteristics. Only the published variant for multi-hornedness was in perfect segregation. The absence of horns was analyzed in multi-horned sheep. Only tendencies of association were found for hornlessness and for different horn shapes and sizes, confirming previous results in other breeds.

A total of 1000 Ross-308 broilers were evenly divided into four groups. One group served as a control and was fed a basal diet, while three experimental groups were given diets with soybean replacement at 10%, 20% and 30%. The results indicated that there were no significant differences in growth performance, nutrient digestibility, hematology, serum metabolites and organoleptic characteristics. Consequently, it can be concluded that maggot meal can be included in the broiler diet up to 30%.

We compared the quality of beef in three muscles obtained from the carcasses of bulls of a local breed of Polish Red cattle and of typical Limousin beef originating from France and Poland. All animals were maintained by an extensive production system using year-round pasture and, additionally, bale grazing in winter season feeding. The beef of the local breed, with distinct attributes like a higher essential fatty acid content, proves to be suitable for producing high-nutritional-value beef.

Tail tip inflammation is a well-known animal health and welfare problem in beef cattle, but data on tail tip necrosis in dairy cows are scarce. We examined the tail tips of 641 cows from five different herds to assess whether lesions occur in dairy cows, what type of lesions occur, and how common they are. We found different types of lesions and classified them into seven groups. Tail tip lesions were very common, suggesting that tail lesions in dairy cows require further investigation.
