Short summary
This study examined how pregnancy type, genotype, and parturition stage affect sheep behavior and labor traits. Twin pregnancies resulted in longer labor and different behavioral patterns compared to singletons, while genotype showed minimal impact. Lying and standing frequency of ewes during the first two stages of parturition was a useful indicator of pregnancy type and labor timing. The results highlight the importance of customized management strategies to improve ewe welfare and lamb survival rates.
