Short summary
This study is the first to measure a natural sperm protection protein at both gene and protein levels in Donggala bulls, an Indonesian cattle breed not previously studied this way. We found that higher levels of this protein are linked to better sperm movement, healthier cell membranes, and less damage after freezing and thawing. This protein can help identify stronger bulls for breeding and support improved cattle reproduction and conservation.
