Our research tried new ideas and measured the milk production performance of cashmere goats and found that the nutritional indicators of milk of Liaoning cashmere goats were excellent, laying a theoretical foundation for the future development of breeding to cashmere goats. At the same time, it also provides theoretical support for producers and can screen individual genotypes based on the experimental results during seed selection, thereby improving production performance to a certain extent.

We studied the impact of the COVID-19 restrictive measures on the extensive farming system of small ruminants. We found that the breeders’ daily work routine was negatively affected in holdings with a high number of sheep. The majority of breeders did not change the movements of the animals in pastures, the amount of the given feedstuffs, the hygienic conditions on the farms, or the employed workers. A decrease in demand for animal products and a decrease in their prices were observed.

This study aimed to determine the changes in the performance, welfare, and productivity level of broiler chickens reared at various group sizes under intensive field conditions. Rearing in groups of 6000 broilers had better performance and higher overall productivity than others, but they tended to show more serious body defects, while a group size of 3000 broilers was more favorable in terms of welfare.

Phytogenics emerged as a substitute of in-feed antibiotics following the ban on their use at subtherapeutic levels in poultry diets. However, the effects of phytogenics have been uncertain in studies conducted so far. Combined use of phytogenics and probiotics may be effective in this regard. In a nutshell, this study shows that combined use of phytogenics and Bacillus licheniformis possess the potential to improve oxidative stability of breast meat and immune response of broiler chickens.

How actual industrial stocking densities generally affect the slaughter performance and meat quality parameters of hybrid Pekin ducks reared under industrial conditions was examined in this experiment. With the findings of the research it can be concluded that, when actually applied stocking densities rearing hybrid Pekin ducks increase, some slaughter parameters and few meat quality parameters are negatively affected.

Important advances have been found in genetic improvement of local goats around the world; however, important limitations are still observed in basic aspects of nutrition, health, and genetics, among others.

The need to reduce the environmental impact from zootechnic productions and to avoid the exploitation of land resources is a current issue. For this reason, the study investigated the replacement of corn silage with triticale silage in the diet of mid-lactation dairy cows by evaluating blood and productive parameters. Diet did not affect blood and milk parameters, suggesting the feasibility of the replacement of corn silage by triticale silage in the diet of mid-lactation dairy cows.

Factors such as genotype, sex, type of birth, maternal age, weaning age and birth weight must be considered in evaluation of pre- and post-weaning growth traits. Myostatin mutation was introduced to native Turkish breed Ramlıç by marker-assisted introgression (MAI). The mutation has a positive effect on ultrasonographic carcass traits in crosses. Lambs with myostatin tended to have deeper longissimus muscle and good carcass characteristics, and they may be recommendable for Turkish farmers.
